Americans Come Up Short at Red Bull Junior Team Test

Estoril, Portugal (5 October 05) - A total of twenty-one drivers from fifteen different countries participated in the Red Bull Junior Team test at the Autodromo Fernanda Pires Da Silva in Estoril, Portugal. The drivers were vying for a coveted spot on the Team as they tested Formula BMW, Formula Renault, and Formula 3 cars on the famous circuit.

Casey Neal (17) of Middletown, Ohio, and Ryan Phinny (15) of Carmel Valley, California, earned their tickets to the intense two-day test by being selected as the 2005 Red Bull Driver Search Finalists. Neal and Phinny participated alongside the other international racers and proved to be extremely competitive during the test, but it wasn’t to be for the young pair. Three other drivers were selected for the Junior Team, but none bear the Stars and Stripes on their helmet or in their hearts.
